Eric and Catherine met in Business School in a beautiful city in France called La Rochelle. After they both graduated, Catherine moved to Firenze (Italy) to pursue her passion for dance and enrolled as a ballerina at the famous Scuola Di Danza Hamlyn.
Meanwhile, Eric moved to Paris where he got to fill in as the drummer of a famous rock French band called Noir Désir. Catherine danced as principle dancer in many ballets and she quickly became known around the globe.
One day – what a day! – Catherine got a call from world famous John O'Connell offering her an audition for the principal role in the movie 'Moulin Rouge'! Eric had grown tired of being on the road and living the rock star life and settled down in Paris where he decided to become an insurance salesman.
Catherine flew to Paris several times for the auditions which went incredibly well. She was soon told later that she was amazing, but sadly the producer of the movie had decided to cast an actress instead of a dancer, and eventually Nicole Kidman was selected as the lead. After what had been an emotional rollercoaster, Cathy decided to follow Eric's path and make an honest, hardworking living in the cosmetics industry at Sephora.
But passion never dies … and Catherine heard about an opportunity in San Francisco for a role in the San Francisco Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. And here they are! Upon arriving in San Francisco, Catherine had yet one more request…a baby girl. “But what is one girl, when you could have three boys?” Eric asked. So they had three gorgeous boys who occupy most of their time, except of course, when they are not busy working, dancing, and being rock stars. Eric decided to change careers yet again and now works in the tech industry. He also returned to his passion and has been playing in four different bands. You can find him smashing the drums every week in local bars and venues around San Francisco. They are going to ROCK the stage at DWTS!
Ashlynn Kalahele (Choreographer)
Ashlynn grew up in the beautiful city of San Francisco, California. She began taking dance lessons when she was eight. She attended MacAteer High School, where she was senior class president and head cheerleader. In 2004, she joined the L.A. Lakers cheerleaders and became head cheerleader / choreographer after only a few months, eventually dropping out of college to dance and choreograph full-time. After choreographing a long list of videos and movies (too long of a list to publish here), she retired from her professional career at age 25 and left the spotlight to raise her two beautiful girls. Only the Saints Peter and Paul production of Dancing with the Stars could bring her out of retirement!
